John Bowmer was a multinational corporate executive for over 30 years & former chief executive officer in the recruitment industry, John has extensive experience managing and growing organizations, making acquisitions and maximizing company performance. He provides strategic oversight to the Workway in his capacity as Chairman.
John is the former chairman of Swiss quoted Adecco SA, the world's largest staffing company where he was chief executive officer from its formation in 1996, through the merger of Ecco and Adia to 2002 when he became Chairman of Adecco. Prior to this, between 1992 and 1996 he was chief executive officer of Adia and between 1987 and 1992 he served in a variety of executive positions at Adia in the UK, Asia, Australia and the US. Previously, Mr Bowmer held a range of management positions in marketing and finance at companies including MAI plc, a financial services and media organization and Polaroid (UK) Ltd. He was a director of CP Ships from its flotation on the New York Stock Exchange in 2001 until its disposal to TUI AG at the end of 2005. He is an investor in, and adviser to, several private equity companies in the US. He was a non executive director of Hireright, an employment screening company, when it floated on NASDAQ until it was purchased in 2008 by a Private Equity company.
John received an MSc from London Business School in 1972 and a BA with Honors from Keele University in Staffordshire, England in 1966.
President & Chief Executive Officer
Highly experienced in building teams, strategic business planning, market restoration, financial analysis and focused sales management, as Chief Executive Officer he is responsible for the continued growth and expansion of Workway. He currently serves on the Board of Directors.
With more than 15 years employment services industry experience, James has a track record of success in developing sales and operations for global employment services organizations Adecco SA and Kelly Services in both Asia Pacific and the United States. Prior to joining Workway, James worked for Kelly Services as member of the Asia Pacific (APAC) Executive Leadership team, responsible for the strategic development, growth and expansion of professional and technical (PT) divisions including IT, Engineering, Scientific, Banking & Finance and Selection practices across twelve Asia Pacific country operations.
James has a Bachelor of Business in International Business and Marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Vice President, Finance & Administration
Vardui Airiyan is the Vice President of Finance and Administration for Workway. Vardui came to Workway in April 2011 with 10 years of experience in accounting. As a member of the leadership team, she plays a key role in the overall management. Vardui oversees all aspects of shared services, financial management and budget. She currently serves on the Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Workway, Vardui was the Controller of a privately-held manufacturing company, Anthony Inc. In this role she reported to the Chief Financial Officer and managed the financial operations of the multiple entities worldwide.
Vardui earned her B.S. in Accountancy from California State University, Northridge. She began her career as an auditor in public accounting in McGladrey & Pullen, LLP where she became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Vice President of Sales
Ashley Hoover is a staffing executive with leadership skills in business development, strategic sales growth, and enrichment of outreach campaigns to heighten brand awareness. A consummate sales leader, Ashley has developed and built sales & recruitment teams that are creative in discovering new talent who possess a demonstrated strength in the mortgage, banking, finance, and the real estate profession. Her "skills marketing" business strategy produces candidates that best fit her clients’ needs. Ashley's expertise is truly creating opportunities for her clients to capitalize and augment their workforce with employees that bring value to their operation. Her innovative social media marketing programs attract the client's target market while reinforcing strategic hiring initiatives.
In May 2011, Ashley joined Workway as the Los Angeles Market Manager, where she built and secured the most profitable division. Prior to joining Workway in 2011, Ashley was Division Director for Robert Half International Los Angeles providing staffing solutions for the Accounting and Finance profession.
Ashley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Retail Marketing from Lindenwood University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Craig has an extensive background in the banking and financial staffing industries for more than 35 years. He previously held the positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer in a commercial bank in San Diego. Craig saw an opportunity to improve the quality of temporary staffing to financial institutions as such founding BANKtemps in 1990 and in 2004 he acquired BancForce Staffing. In 2006, the combined companies became BancForce Financial Staffing. Craig built an organization driven by financial professionals recruiting financial professionals where his team were uniquely qualified to meet the staffing needs of financial institutions and companies, becoming a well-established, trusted name in the financial industry, known not only as the staffing service of choice for employers, but also as a reliable, well-connected place for candidates to find great job opportunities. Post the sale of BancForce Financial Staffing to Workway in June, 2012, Craig provides support in the continued growth of the BancForce Division.
In addition to his staffing activities, Craig is a Board Member for California Staffing Professionals (CSP), the trade association in California for staffing companies, where he most recently served as Treasurer.
